it's about time I blogged!

School started on Monday, and the craziness started too.
Before I go into that though, my parents came to Marquette on their way to the other nether regions of the UP.
It was so good to see them.
They forced me to ride my bike downtown by bribing me with a new printer.
It worked, I went, but I wasn't happy about it!
They are amazing parents, and Jason and I are so blessed to have them in our lives, and blessed with everything they do for us.
I worked a crazy shift at the pizza place on Sunday night, while Jason got to hang out with my parents around the fire.
I had an 8am class on Monday, but that meant that I was up and moving much earlier than normal and was able to drink coffee with my parents for a couple of hours before they headed out.
I am nannying for one of the English professors three days a week, and then working at the pizza place on the weekends.
So in other words, I am going to be one busy, busy girl.
Hopefully I'll be able to schedule some time with my husband!

In other news, our landlord came over on Wednesday afternoon to fix a couple of minimal repairs, one of them being a leak from our shower that goes into the basement.
It turned into more than just a simple repair.
He was over yesterday until 9:30 at night and made 3 trips to the hardware store.
Poor guy. But that means that we have been without a shower and yesterday I wasn't able to even go to the bathroom in my own house.
Thank goodness for a really good friend, that let us use his shower otherwise things would be smelling foul. ("things" meaning me)

Thanks to my aunt and grandma I was able to go shopping at Target for a few essentials.
I got the rug below for our living room, and we got a new coffee pot that is programmable. We are hoping that if coffee is already made when our alarm goes off, we might get up faster.
We'll see how that goes.
Thanks Gram and Necie!

Pictured below is my craft projects that I was able to make thanks to my mom for taking me to the fabric store.
They look a little circus-y, but I like it a lot, and it really brightens the room.
Thanks Mom!

who can blame me???

We are all moved in and for the most part settled.

After numerous demands for pictures, I thought that I would share some of things that make me smile.

Two new deck chairs!

My window sill in the kitchen.
All of my flowers lined up, makes me smile every time.

I've always wanted one of these.

My clear uncluttered view from the kitchen.

Multicolored organic eggs from the co-op.

My organized pantry.

Have a great weekend! I'm off to work.

hold your horses

I have been informed (debby, grandma....) that I have not posted enough lately, so that is what I am going to do.

I had moved a bunch of stuff over on Saturday and stacked it all in the pantry, but I couldn't move anything else because we had to wait for the apartment to get painted.

I made Jason go over there yesterday to try and catch the person that was painting to see how much longer it was going to be.

Well it turns out that Jason knew the guy and he made an extra trip to make sure that it was finished yesterday afternoon. WHOOO HOOO

So, I let Jason drink some coffee, and read his book for a while, and then I put him to work.

We both pulled our vehicles up to the door and started loading. By the way moving goes so much faster with more people!

We moved a ton of stuff over and I spend a couple of hours trying to figure out where things were going to go.

Then I went to Wal-Mart to get oven cleaner to clean the old oven before we moved, and kept on packing more things.

Today we have one of our friends coming over, later to help with the big stuff, but I have a feeling that we'll have most of it done before that.

We will be spending our first night there tonight!!! I can't wait.

I hope that was a good enough update. (minus pictures...i've been a little busy)

I'll post more once we get settled.
