October recap

As I was looking through my 'October' file tonight, I realized how much we've done in one month. Here's the short recap in pictures.

Detroit Tigers made it to the World Series and then got swept by the Giants, disappointing the biggest Detroit Tigers fans EVER. (and the cutest)
No, these two do not share a bed, but they do like to hang out in there together. I love how they love each other so much. Hopefully they will be this close and love each other for the rest of their lives.
We've been to the park. A lot. Hopefully the weather holds off and we can keep going for the next month or so.
Oh yeah, and my amazing husband ran and finished his very first marathon. I am so proud of him and can't wait to someday run one with him.
His dad and brother flew in to surprise him. It was awesome!
Bea FINALLY likes to cuddle, and we are loving every moment of it.
Harper can ROLL!  Both ways. Crazy boy.
 Bea likes bounce houses now.
Hurricane Sandy made a visit to Rhode Island. Thankfully we were very safe where we were and feel very fortunate that we escaped any damage or prolonged power outages. (Thank you Jesus)

Halloween!  Elmo, the owl and his tree.
Waiting with dad to pass out candy.

I can't wait to see what November has in store for us...oh yeah that's right, a visit from both sets of parents and someone is turning 2!  Whoooeeee!

walks to the beach

I got a new double stroller!
It has it's issues, but it's been awesome for our morning walks, trips to the bank, doctors office, and baseball games.

Haper getting a diaper change on the picnic table.

 Oh Bea.
 Harper!
He's turning into such a happy (and big) boy!

Harper Sebastian

He came a week early.
This picture is from the day before and I'm pretty sure from the looks of things, he had no where else to go.

I started having contractions around 1pm on Monday, but kept waiting to make sure they were actual labor pains and not me just getting my hopes up!

I finally decided at 6pm or so that maybe I should call my doctor just to make sure. Well he wanted me to come in to the hospital to get checked out, and even then I thought for sure they would tell me to go home. I didn't even bring my bag. (I did bring a camera though...just in case.)

The picture below is of me getting monitored. Sure enough they were actual contractions and since I was getting a c-section, they started getting me prepped for surgery very quickly. Until that happened I was sure they were still going to send me home and tell me I still had to wait another week to see my baby boy.

Jason and I in the OR.
Seeing my sweet boy for the first time. I just had to peek at all that hair I kept hearing about over the blue curtain.

 Proud Dad, calling the family.

Bea came with Dad the next day and met Harper. She was a little wary at first, but there is no doubt about it...she LOVES her little brother. She is always trying to get on top of him to give him kisses. He will be one tough boy.

We are a very happy family of four. Harper is such a sweet boy and sleeps a lot as all newborns do. Slowly he is waking up more and focusing better.

We would not have survived the last three weeks without the help from our church family, bringing meals and watching Bea. Help from my parents and Jason's parents coming out to Rhode Island, and to our friends who have become our family here. Someday I will think of a way to thank you all properly.

A trip to Anna's

Up late at night playing Angry Birds with Dad. This is one sure fire way of getting her to sit still.

Our friend Anna lives out on a farm and invited us out for an afternoon. Bea loved everything about it except for the horse. I think it's just too big right now.

Blowing bubbles in the rain water.

 We love Rachel!

At the end of the afternoon, she was almost asleep in the hammock, but managed a smile for us all!

 Making cookies with Mamma.

I'm going to be glad to see my parents when they come in less than 2 weeks, but I'm going to be REALLY glad to see my Kitchen Aide mixer. I miss you friend.

summer is coming

I'm pretty sure this is not the first time this is going to happen this summer.

Resulting in this.

Stealing a moment with Daddy before he left for school.
