It's official!!!!

After months of waiting, worrying, praying for a simple decision of where we were supposed to be for school for the next few years, it's official...

WE'RE STAYING IN MARQUETTE!!!!

The decision was simple, very simple, but it was just what we had prayed for.
We have a great support system here, academically, socially, and personally.
So now you have 3 more years to come visit us in the UP!

by the way

IT IS STILL SNOWING UP HERE!!!!!!

WHEN WILL IT END????

evoking change

For almost 2 years now, Jason and I have been cramming our outgoing mail into a very small box.
If there were other letters in the box, frequently we would have to take them out and rearrange them to get ours in.
This box mind you, was supposed to, according to our leasing company, be large enough for 30 or so people's outgoing mail.
I never thought to do anything about this little annoyance, but my husband certainly did.
After almost 2 years of silently complaining he finally got the idea to actually DO something about this little problem.
He called our leasing company and explained to them how ridiculous it was for our whole building to have such a tiny outgoing mailbox, and insisted that a new, bigger box be put up.
Of course, when he told me about this, in my typical way I doubted that anything would be done about it.
But lo and behold today when I went to deposit my outgoing mail, I deposited it into a VERY LARGE outgoing mail box!
I couldn't believe it.
And all it took was a simple suggestion.
To think, that is possibly just that simple to evoke all forms of change.
I believe that it does.
That that is all it takes.
One simple suggestion.
A realization that something is wrong, that there is a better way, a new way to do things.
I believe that it is that simple.
If you don't like something.
Change it!

So darn cute!!

I've posted pictures of Josiah before, but I had to share more.
He is so sweet, loves to cuddle, and has the most beautiful head of hair I have ever seen on a baby.
Thank you Liisa for letting me get my "baby fix" in!

Happy St. Paddy's Day!

That being said.

Tonight I flipped out.

I threw my already suffering phone on the ground. (and damaged it further)

I yelled. To no one in particular, but in the direction of my husband.

I overreacted. Really overreacted.

I was so frustrated.

I had my whole night planned.

Stop home really quick after class.
Get checkbook and envelope.
Drop rent off.
Go to post office.
Pick up package.
Mail package.
Get quarters at bank.
Go grocery shopping.
Do laundry.
Make Shepherd's Pie.
Go out with new friends.
(take a shower somewhere in there)

I had all of that planned until at 4:20 I received a call from work wondering if I was planning on showing up for work or not.

I informed them that I had no clue I was supposed to work tonight.
(by the way, I get out of class at 3:55 and yet they keep scheduling me on mondays for a job that takes me a half an hour to get there AND starts at 4:00) (really????, really????)
Well, too bad, I was on the schedule.
I told them I was on my way.

I hung up or rather threw my phone on the ground and proceeded to FREAK OUT!

Poor Jason. He had to be there during my episode, which had nothing to do with him, and there was nothing he could do to fix it.

So, I am at work hoping that no one else will call me and ask me what I am doing for St. Paddy's day tonight. And hoping that my husband isn't scared of me when i get home.

Don't you just love Monday's?

my poor phone

No those are not pretty spider web designs on my cell phone face, those are cracks.
The day Jason and I left for Marquette for our week in Grand Rapids we had to pick up a friend of ours that we were bringing to Lansing.
At his house I got out of the car and somehow, without my knowledge, I dropped my phone.
But, I did not realize this until I was almost out of the UP.
Jason got a voice mail from the woman who found my phone, and it worked out great that Jason's cousin was still at our apartment was able to pick my phone up and bring it home with her to GR.
I was so thankful to get my phone back, but I couldn't believe what the front of my phone looked like when I got it back.
It was definitely run over, and probably by me! Whoops!
It's not pretty, but it works!

On our way back up to the UP. Jason and I had a great conversation. There is just something about long car rides where you are forced to listen, to converse, to come to an understanding.
I think it took me the whole time we were home to realize that I needed to keep an open mind about our plans for next fall.
I believe I was being, what you would call SELFISH!
Very selfish.
I have since shaken some sense into myself.
Jason and I have both decided that we will wait until we have all the cards on the table, all of the acceptance or rejection letters from colleges in our grimy hands, and only then will we worry about what we do, and where we go from here.
