New Name

Moose is not a good name.

So we changed it.

Moose is now Maggs.

Short for Magglio Ordonez who is a baseball player for the tigers, who has a lot of hair!

I promise that I will not be the kind of dog owner who posts about every little thing their dog does, but for a little while at least I feel that I have the right.

So far these are the things that we know about Maggs.

He is:

1. a super sweet heart.
2. an attention hog.
3. house broken.
4. so far only aggressive towards cars and people that are bundled up in winter clothes.
5. good with baths in the bath tub.
6. is crate trained.
7. a very quick learner.
8. in love with jason.
9. has boundless energy, but is still content to sit by you if you are sitting.

We really like him, and are so glad that we were able to adopt him.

Florida (word part)

When I called my Mom last night to let her know that I had landed safely back in Marquette, the first thing I said was how cold I was. Oh my gosh, what a shocker to the system. It was 87 degrees on Saturday in Orlando. It was around 10 on Sunday night in Marquette.

I had a great trip. I felt like I was only there for a day, because the time went so fast. It was so good to see my very favorite sister and her husband. I sat outside every opportunity I could. I sat in the sun during the day and enjoyed the warmth at night.

I knew a year and a half ago that Tim would be so good for Andrea and that Andrea would be good for Tim. What I didn't know or couldn't have even hoped for, was that they would have come so far in their marriage. As a big sister I always want the best and the most out of life for my siblings, and that is why I am so thankful that they were able to find themselves in each other. It is evident to everyone they meet that they are respectful of each other and that they love each other, and I was glad that I was able to be a witness to the strides they have made since moving to Florida.

I love you Tim and Andrea and I am so, so proud to be called your sister. Thank you for sharing your house and your time with me. I am so thankful for both of you.

Getting on a Jet Plane (or a plane of some sort anyway)

This morning I woke up and my first thought was not how excited I was that I was going to Florida today. My first thought was how excited I was to get up to a clean house. No clutter, no dishes in the sink, and nothing on my 'TO DO' list except get ready.

All semester long I have had a running 'TO DO' list. I cross some things off, others get transferred to the next list, and some are just things I'll get around to eventually.

I have felt since before school started that there is always something else I could be doing. There was always a project that I was in the middle of.

Today was the first day that I woke up in the morning with a clean 'TO DO' list, all of my homework done, and 3 1/2 days of hanging out with my sister in Orlando to look forward to.

I also discovered that this is the first time in my whole life that I have flown alone. I've flown multiple times in my life, but it was always with other people.

I think flying is a pain in the butt, but getting to Florida from the top of Michigan in 5 1/2 hours...you can't beat it.

The pictures below are of the precious girl that I baby sit for 3 days a week. She is getting so big and being with her 3 days a week makes me miss my nieces a little less.
